OUR STUDENTS LEARN HOW TO CREATE ABUNDANCE FROM THE GROUND-UP
At Charlestown Primary School, we believe there are valuable social and developmental lessons found in our gardens. Our gardens are just as important as reading and writing. Our on-campus shade house and future off-campus gardens are powerful environmental education tools.
Since establishing the on-campus vegetable garden shade house, our students have become responsible caretakers. They have developed a strong sense of community outside the classroom. Beyond academics, our gardens provide broader life lessons including contributing to students’ knowledge of how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
We believe our students must learn how to take responsibility for their environment and develop a strong sense of community to ensure the continuation of our society. We believe the palm is gained with effort.
